Our Doing Business Globally program will feature insights from executives and Baker & McKenzie partners based around the world. For example, Daniel Matthews, managing partner of the Firm’s Istanbul office, will speak on business and legal developments in Turkey.
Here, he shares insights on the current business landscape in the country:
“While much of the news about Turkey and the region has turned negative in recent months, Turkey remains economically — and for business results — one of the top two or three markets in all of Central and Eastern Europe and the CIS,” said Mr. Matthews.
“Overall, Turkey is expected to be the fastest growing market in the region for organic top-line sales in 2015 and 2016 and remains one of the top 5 or 6 emerging markets for investment globally. While considerably lower than in recent years, Turkish GDP is predicted to grow by 2.9 percent in 2015. More importantly, medium-term GDP growth is expected to recover to a 3.5 to 3.8 percent range over the next 10 years, making Turkey one of the key global growth markets for the next decade.”
